LG 27GL83A with 27″ IPS Panel, 144Hz Refresh Rate and sRGB Gamut

A new display has appeared on some regional pages of LG.com. The LG 27GL83A is a 27″ screen which has very similar appearance, features and specs overall to the recently released (and reviewed) 27GL850. It has a 2560 x 1440 resolution IPS panel, 144Hz refresh rate and support for adaptive sync. This includes support for variable refresh rates from AMD FreeSync as well as being certified as G-sync Compatible by NVIDIA. The main difference between the new 27GL83A and the 27GL850 appears to be the use of a standard sRGB gamut backlight from the “Vivid IPS” panel (as LG refer to it), instead of the wide DCI-P3 gamut offered by the “Nano IPS” panel of the 27GL850.
