ViewSonic Elite XG270 with 27″ 1080p IPS Panel and 240Hz Refresh Rate

ViewSonic have recently announced the launch of their forthcoming Elite XG270 display. Not to be confused with the also announced XG270QG (a 27″ Nano IPS model with 1440p and 144/165Hz refresh rate), the XG270 is instead a 27″ model with a 1080p resolution, but a native 240Hz IPS panel. This will offer another alternative in the market to the range of other 27″ 240Hz IPS panels we’ve seen announced to date such as the Acer Nitro VG272X, Dell Alienware AW2720HF, Acer Nitro XV273X and LG 27GN750 for instance.

The new XG270 is 27″ in size and features a 1920 x 1080 resolution IPS panel. A 1ms G2G response time spec is advertised, although take this with a pinch of salt for sure with a technology like this. The 240Hz native refresh rate is supported through adaptive sync for variable refresh rates from both AMD and NVIDIA systems. It has also been certified as ‘G-sync Compatible’ by NVIDIA.

In other specs there is a 1000:1 contrast ratio, 400 cd/m2 brightness, 178/178 viewing angles, 16.7m colour depth and standard 99% sRGB colour gamut.

There are also 2x 3W stereo speakers built in to the screen along with various RGB lighting options. The lighting will be controllable via the Elite RGB Controller on-screen display (OSD) software, which will be the first app for ViewSonic’s Elite line when it is released. It lets you pick colors and browse through different lighting modes. There are two mouse bungees (right and left) and headphone hook to make gaming more convenient and tidy as well.

Update 6/1/20 – we have some more news now from CES 2020.

Elite XG270 with Blur Busters PureXP Strobe Certification

The ELITE XG270 is the world’s first Blur Buster’s -approved monitor, tuned and certified, providing gamers both fast GtG and fast MPRT options. ViewSonic ELITE™ has partnered with Blur Busters to tune PureXP, a specialized strobe backlight technology for the XG270. PureXP supercharges Moving Picture Response Time (MPRT) to achieve MPRT as low as 0.6ms. This eliminates strobe crosstalk, without effecting color quality, delivering the purest experience in display motion clarity.

ELITE RGB Alliance

With the ELITE XG27 series of gaming monitors, ELITE RGB can be synced with Razer and Thermaltake. Razer Chroma and Thermaltake TT RGB Plus link up with ELITE RGB via the monitors’ display controller software, allowing users to control both accent and ambient RGB lighting. With Razer Chroma, users gain access to the Chroma Workshop which features a collection of RGB profiles integrated by game developers from more than 135 popular titles. Utilizing both Razer Chroma and Thermaltake advanced RGB software allows gamers to control their RGB environment, allowing for the ultimate immersive gaming experience.

ELITE Ally

The ELITE Ally peripheral is a USB-connected touch-screen device that allows gamers to quickly access on-screen display settings, such as game modes, adaptive sync, HDR, brightness, contrast, RGB lighting and more. Users can fine-tune their gaming experience without touching the monitor or opening their ELITE display controller software. The ELITE Ally peripheral is currently only compatible with select ViewSonic ELITE gaming monitors.
