At CES in Las Vegas Asus have also unveiled their new ROG Swift PG43UQ display. There’s not a massive amount of information at this time but we do know that this will be a 43.4″ sized VA technology panel with 3840 x 2160 resolution. It has a 144Hz refresh rate and uses Display Stream Compression (DSC) to allow for support of 4K @ 144Hz over a single DisplayPort 1.4 connection. There is also adaptive-sync support for variable refresh rates from both NVIDIA and AMD systems, including NVIDIA G-sync Compatible certification.

The screen has also been certified under the VESA DisplayHDR 1000 scheme including a 1000 cd/m2 peak brightness. This should also therefore include local dimming support (edge lit almost certainly), a wide >90% DCI-P3 colour gamut and 10-bit colour depth support.

There are 2x DisplayPort 1.4, 2x HDMI 2.0, 2x USB 3.0, an audio input and a headphone output provided for connectivity. A remote control is also provided with the screen.

No word on pricing at this time but it is supposedly going to be available during H1 2020.

Update 9/1/20 – We have a few more specs for this screen now.

  • It includes Asus’ Extreme Low Motion Blur (ELMB) which gives rise to a 1ms MPRT spec. So what we originally believed to be a 1ms G2G spec, is actually MPRT
  • There are 2x 10W integrated stereo speakers
  • The screen has apparently been certified under the ‘G-sync Compatible’ scheme for VRR which is good news for NVIDIA users
  • The display also includes Asus’ Aura Sync lighting system
  • The contrast ratio spec, previously not listed is 4000:1 thanks to the VA panel
  • There are 2x DisplayPort 1.4, 2x HDMI 2.0, 2x USB 3.0, an audio input and a headphone output provided for connectivity.
  • The stand offers only a tilt adjustment but can be removed for VESA 100mm mounting if you’d rather
