Some brief information has been announced at CES 2021 in regards to a few new screens from Asus. We don’t have a massive amount of info about these yet, but what we do know is included below. The new models include the 27″ ROG Swift PG279QM, the 28″ TUF Gaming VG28UQL1A and the 43.4″ ROG Strix XG43UQ. The latter two have HDMI 2.1 connectivity as well. We have already covered their new ROG Swift PG32UQ in a separate news piece.

Asus models announced with HDMI 2.1 connectivity at CES 2021

ROG Swift PG279QM

This is a 27″ sized model with 2560 x 1440 resolution and a 240Hz refresh rate. It also offers a 1ms G2G response time “Fast IPS” panel and features a Native G-sync hardware module along with NVIDIA’s Reflex Latency Analyzer technology. This tool helps competitive gamers to understand how long it takes for the input from their main mouse button to be translated into on-screen action, allowing them to understand the causes of input lag in their system and to minimize them for the best responsiveness.

The screen also has a wide colour gamut covering 95% DCI-P3 and familiar Asus GamePlus, GameVisual and Aura Sync features. It is also compatible with the Asus ROG desk mounting kit. This is expected to be released in Q1 2021.

TUF Gaming VG28UQL1A

This is a 28″ sized model with a 3840 x 2160 4K resolution Fast IPS panel. This is combined with a 144Hz refresh rate as well as a quoted 1ms response time. Variable overdrive has apparently been added by Asus as well, as this is an adaptive-sync screen supporting VRR from both NVIDIA and AMD systems. Wide colour gamut is provided offering 90% DCI-P3 coverage (125% sRGB). ELMB-sync (simultaneous blur reduction and VRR) is also supported. This model will also feature HDMI 2.1 connectivity (a big focus at CES this year). Release is expected in Q2 2021 for this model.

ROG Strix XG43UQ

Some information about this screen was released all the way back in June 2019 but as far as we can tell the monitor was never released, going through several updates since then. It looks like Asus is finally planning to release this screen as it was also covered at CES 2021 this week. This is a 43.4″ sized screen with a 3840 x 2160 4K resolution and 144Hz refresh rate. DisplayPort 1.4 is provided along with DSC support (as per the old news pieces where this was heavily promoted). The screen will also include HDMI 2.1 connectivity now.

VESA DisplayHDR 1000 certification is achieved with a 90% DCI-P3 gamut also quoted. ELMB-sync is supported on this model too. It is expected to be released in Q1 2021 as far as we know.
