AOC are set to add another option to the ever-growing list of 32″ sized gaming screens with a 4K resolution and high refresh rate. Their AGON Pro AG324UX first appeared back in May 2021 on their Chinese product site, but has now been confirmed for wider release including with a press release in the UK this week. The AG324UX offers a 31.5″ sized IPS panel, 3840 x 2160 “4K” resolution and 144Hz refresh rate. This is supported by adaptive-sync for VRR from compatible NVIDIA and AMD systems. Also of interest is the inclusion of HDMI 2.1 connectivity, useful for modern games consoles.
AOC AGON AG324UX Specs
Spec wise the screen offers a 31.5″ IPS-type panel with a 3-side borderless design, 3840 x 2160 resolution, 1ms G2G response time, 1000: contrast ratio, 350 cd/m2 brightness, 178/178 viewing angles, 10-bit colour depth and a wide colour gamut covering 100% sRGB (125% relative coverage) and a specified 99.8% DCI-P3 and 107% Adobe RGB coverage. The screen apparently comes factory calibrated to offer a dE <2.
VRR and Motion Blur Reduction Support
An added Motion Blur Reduction (MBR) strobing backlight mode is provided as well, giving rise to a quoted 1ms MPRT. The screen will apparently include AMD FreeSync Premium Pro and NVIDIA G-sync Compatible certifications.
Connectivity including HDMI 2.1
For connectivity there are 2x HDMI 2.1 ports offered along with 1x DisplayPort 1.4 (with DSC), 1x USB type-C (90W power delivery and DP Alt mode) and 4x USB 3.2 ports. KVM functionality is also built in according to the product page. PiP and PbP modes are supported too for multiple inputs. There is also a headphone jack and mic input provided, along with 2x 8W speakers built in to the screen with DTS sound.
The stand offers a full range of tilt, height, swivel and rotate adjustments. AOC Light FX is built in to the stand as well with a range of options. Additional gaming extras like a ‘dark field control’, FPS counter etc are included as on other AGON gaming screens.
The screen is expected to be available from September 2021 at an RRP of £899 GBP in the UK.
