At the annual Acer press event in New York this week Acer showcased their new “ConceptD” portfolio; a new brand of desktops, notebooks, monitors and other bits and pieces with premium, any unusual in many cases, high-end design. We’ve written separately about the 32″  CM7321K, and this news piece is about the smaller 27″ model – offering some different specs and potentially an interesting option for gamers as well as designs and professionals.

This smaller model is 27″ in size and aimed at 3D creators according to the press release, although we expect it to be an interesting option for gamers too – especially if you’re not keen on the design of the Predator and Nitro gaming range from Acer.

This model has a 3840 x 2160 resolution and 99% AdobeRGB colour gamut. Handily Acer also list the DCI-P3 coverage for this model as 93%. The interesting thing with this model is that it features a 144Hz refresh rate and is one of the ‘G-sync Ultimate‘ displays, being also certified as VESA DisplayHDR 1000 . So this is a new option when it comes to 27″ 4K @ 144Hz, being great for gaming and also more professional applications, colour critical work and HDR workflows. We assume this will use a FALD backlight, and unlike the 32″ CM7321K model, Mini LED is NOT mentioned in the press release or material.

Further info and specs are not known at this time, but we will update this news piece when we have more information.

The ConceptD CP7271K 27-inch Monitor will be available in North America in July, starting at USD $1,999; and in EMEA in July, starting at EUR 2,099.
