NEC have recently announced the release of a couple of new 27″ monitors in their range with the same overall design but different underlying specs and features.

Firstly there is the new MultiSync EA271Q, a 2560 x 1440 Quad HD resolution display for offices, control rooms and trading floors. The resolution helps enable users to promote maximum office productivity compared with more traditional 1080p resolution screens.

Then there is the MultiSync EA271U with a 3840 x 2160 Ultra HD resolution, and which is designed for highly-detailed applications such as content creation, CAD / CAM design, control rooms and trading floors.

Both new models are designed to maximise user comfort and well-being. A full range  of ergonomic features enable perfect adjustment according to each user’s individual needs, while integrated sensors that adjusts screen brightness according to user presence and ambient light conditions. Meanwhile, combined Low Blue Light and Flicker-Free technology further protects the viewer’s eyes.

The displays also enable owners to de-clutter their desktops thanks to the display’s USB Type-C connectivity, which replaces separate video, audio, computer power and USB connections with a single cable to connect a notebook or tablet PC with the display. There are also DisplayPort, HDMI and DVI (EA271Q only) connections provided for video connectivity, as well as a DP-out for daisy-chaining (EA271Q only) and an integrated 3x USB 3.0 hub. 2x 1W speakers and a headphone jack are also provided for audio.
