Information about a new gaming monitor from MSI has appeared online in some regions. The PAG272QR2 is a 27″ sized screen and features a 2560 x 1440 resolution “Rapid-IPS” panel, 165Hz refresh rate and adaptive sync support for variable refresh rates from NVIDIA and AMD systems.
In other specs the screen offers an advertised 1ms G2G response time, although as ever take that with a pinch of salt. There is also a 1000:1 contrast ratio, 300 cd/m2 brightness, 178/178 viewing angles and an 8-bit+FRC colour depth. A wide colour gamut is offered with 98% DCI-P3 and 99% Adobe RGB coverage quoted. Quantum Dot is mentioned in the product description as the enabler for that wide gamut support.
There is an RGB lighting system on the back as well and the screen comes packaged with a shading hood even. The stand offers tilt, height and swivel adjustments and there are 2x DisplayPort 1.4and 2x HDMI 2.0 connections offered along with a headphone jack.
