MSI are set to release two new models in their range, featuring 27″ VA technology panels and supporting a 240Hz native refresh rate. We have already seen a couple of models announced from Samsung and AOC featuring 240Hz VA panels, so this will provide another alternative option for gamers. The two new models are the Optix MAG272RX (flat) and MAG272CRX (curved 1500R). Both offer a 1920 x 1080 resolution.

The 240Hz refresh rate is supported by AMD FreeSync for variable refresh rates, meaning it can also support NVIDIA G-sync systems. In other specs the screens offer a 1ms MPRT specification thanks to the added blur reduction backlight mode. There is a 3000:1 contrast ratio, 300 cd/m2 brightness, 178/178 viewing angles and an 8-bit+FRC colour depth . For the flat version a 92% DCI-P3 colour gamut (116% sRGB coverage) is quoted, while the curved version is slightly lower at 90% DCI-P3 (115% sRGB).

For connectivity there are 1x DisplayPort, 2x HDMI, 1x USB type-C, 2x USB 3.2 ports and a headphone out. A full range of tilt, height, swivel and rotate adjustments are offered from the stand for the flat model, while only tilt and height are provided for the curved model.

Confirmation of pricing and release dates when we get them.
