LG have announced at IFA 2019 this week their new 27GN750 display, a 27″ IPS model with 1920 x 1080 resolution and a 240Hz refresh rate. It is part of their “expanded lineup of UltraGear 1ms IPS NVIDIA G-sync gaming monitors”, although we know to take the 1ms IPS specs with a pinch of salt from our recent testing of the new 27GL850 model. The new model will be LG’s first IPS panel with 240Hz refresh rate though, which will be an interesting addition to their lineup.

Spec wise the 27GN750 will offers a 27″ IPS panel with 1920 x 1080 resolution (FHD), 1ms G2G advertised response time, 1000:! contrast ratio, 400 cd/m2 brightness, 178/178 viewing angles, 16.7m colour depth, 99% sRGB gamut. The 240Hz refresh rate is supported with adaptive-sync for VRR from both AMD and NVIDIA systems. The LG press release states that it will be certified as G-sync Compatible as well.

There are 2x DisplayPort 1.4 and 2x HDMI 2.0 ports provided as well as a 2 port USB 3.0 hub.

Release is expected in Q4 2019. It’s unclear at this stage whether the screen will be using one of the planned new LG.Display 240Hz IPS panels of this size, of one from AU Optronics. It would seem logical to assume they would use an LG.Display panel, although the latest info we had was that their version of the panel was not expected to go in to production until Q4 itself. The AUO equivalent went in to production around May 2019. Given also that the panel is not advertised as Nano IPS here, it could imply the use of the AUO panel. Time will tell.

More news on pricing and availability when we get it.
