Dell U4021QW Announced with 40″ IPS Panel and 5120 x 2160 (5K2K) Resolution

Dell have announced a new monitor in their popular UltraSharp range. The U4021QW is 39.7″ in size (40″ basically) with a 2500R curvature and offering a 5120 x 2160 (5K2K) resolution. This provides an approximate 21:9 ultrawide aspect ratio but this time on an even larger screen than common 34 – 35″, and even some 37.5″ sized displays. It also provides a larger resolution at the same time than the common 3440 x 1440 (on 34 – 35″) or 3840 x 1600 (37.5″).

Spec wise the U4021QW offers a 5120 x 2160 resolution IPS panel (the new LG.Display LM400RW1-SSA1), 60Hz refresh rate, 5ms G2G response time (fast mode), 1000: 1 contrast ratio, 300 cd/m2 brightness, 178/178 viewing angles and a 1.07b colour depth. A wide colour gamut is supported by the backlight with a quoted 98% DCI-P3 coverage (and 100% sRGB). The screen comes factory calibrated with a dE <2.

The stand provides tilt, height and swivel adjustments or can be removed for VESA 100mm mounting if you’d rather. For connectivity there are 1x USB type-C (15W power delivery), 1x Thunderbolt 3 (with 90W power delivery and DP Alt Mode), 1x DisplayPort 1.4, 2x HDMI 2.0 and 4x USB ports. PiP and PbP are supported as well for multiple inputs. There is even a built in KVM switch, Gigabit LAN port, a headphone jack and 2x9W stereo speakers provided.

The U4021QW is expected to retail for around $2100 USD and is expected to be available around 28th January 2021.
