BenQ have announced the launch of a new gaming monitor series entitled, MOBIUZ.  They have launched two models into the range, the 27″ EX2710 and the 24.5″ EX2510, which will be available to buy from next month. BenQ has combined its intelligent HDRi, treVolo speakers, gaming enhancements and exclusive Eye-Care technology, to release this new range dedicated to the gamer. Both screens carry similar design, specs and features. They are based on IPS-type panels with a 1920 x 1080 resolution, 144Hz refresh rate and support for adaptive-sync for VRR from both compatible NVIDIA and AMD systems.

Utilising a discretely integrated light sensor, the EX2710 and EX2510 monitors actively detect ambient light levels and analyse on-screen content to try and help optimise HDR content playback. Although keep in mind that this screen can’t do a lot more than accept and process an HDR10 input source. It lacks any local dimming and even the wide colour gamut to create a decent HDR output image.

BenQ’s press release also confirms that “for full immersion, MOBIUZ gaming monitors also offer custom high-end speakers designed by BenQ’s treVolo audio engineers to provide a spectacular aural experience. ” These are 2x 2.5W by the way.

For hassle-free gaming, the monitors’ proprietary enhancements including Light Tuner’s 20 colour settings for different gaming genres and Black eQualizer, for brightening dark corners and shadows, to help gamers easily identify game objects and hidden enemies. The intuitive Scenario Mapping feature auto-selects the gamers’ preferred settings when the input source is switched on. The Quick OSD presets and a 5-Way Navigator joystick allow quick access to these game-enhancements.

Spec wise the screens offer a 1920 x 1080 resolution, 2ms G2G response time, 1ms MPRT response time when using the blur reduction mode, 1000:1 contrast ratio, 400 cd/m2 brightness, 178/178 viewing angles and a standard 99% sRGB colour gamut. The stand offers tilt, height and swivel adjustments. For connectivity there are 1x DisplayPort 1.2a, 2x HDMI 2.0 and a headphone jack.

The BenQ MOBIUZ EX2510 gaming monitor will be available in Europe from August 2020 at an expected retail price of EUR 259.99 (or $249.99 in the US). The MOBIUZ EX2710 will be available to buy in Europe from September 2020 for RRP EUR 299.99 ($299.99 in the US).
