AOC AGON AG493UCX with 49″ Ultrawide VA Panel, 5120 x 1440 and 120Hz Refresh Rate

AOC have released a new gaming monitor in their popular AGON series. The AG493UCX is a massive curved (1800R) 49″ ultrawide screen with a 5120 x 1440 resolution, the same as two 27″ 2560 x 1440 monitors joined side by side. The screen uses a VA technology panel and boasts a 1ms MPRT spec, 120Hz refresh rate and adaptive-sync support for VRR from both AMD and NVIDIA systems.

In other specs the screen has a 32:9 aspect ratio, a 1800R curvature, 4ms G2G response time, 3000:1 contrast ratio, 550 cd/m2 brightness, 178/178 viewing angles, 16.7m colour depth, 90% DCI-P3 gamut (121% sRGB and 90% Adobe RGB coverage also quoted). The 1ms MPRT spec is supported by an added Motion Blur Reduction (MBR) backlight system. For VRR the screen has already been certified under AMD’s FreeSync Premium Pro level.

The screens comes factory calibrated to ensure accurate colours with a dE <2. There are 2x DisplayPort 1.4, 2x HDMI 2.0, 1x USB type-C, 3x USB ports and an audio output offered for connectivity. 2x 5W speakers are built in to the screen and the stand offers tilt, height and swivel adjustments. There are also Picture by Picture (PbP) modes supported and a KVM switch for handling multiple input sources.

The AGON AG493UCX will be available in Europe during December 2020 according to a recent press release at a RRP of £899
