AOC are set to release a new model in their AGON gaming series of screens. The AG273FCZE is 27″ in size and features a 1500R curved VA panel with a 240Hz refresh rate and a 0.5ms MPRT spec thanks to its added motion blur reduction backlight. This will be one of the few available 240Hz VA panels on the market, and it still remains to be seen whether this technology can keep up appropriately with the high frame rate demands when it comes to pixel response times and motion clarity.
Adaptive-sync is supported allowing for variable refresh rate support from both AMD and NVIDIA systems with a range of 48 – 240Hz supported. The VA panel offers a high contrast ratio of 3000:1 which is a strength of this technology. In other specs the screen has a 1920 x 1080 resolution, 300 cd/m2 brightness, 178/178 viewing angles, 16.7m colour depth.
The screen accepts an HDR10 input source but don’t expect any meaningful HDR output from the screen as it lacks local dimming support. There is at least an extended colour gamut with 90% DCI-P3 (120% sRGB, 98% NTSC) quoted in the specs.
The screen comes with a factory calibration ensuring dE <2. There are 2x DisplayPort 1.4, 2x HDMI 2.0 and even an old school D-sub VGA connection offered for connectivity. There is also an audio output. Tilt, height and side to side swivel adjustments are offered from the stand.
