Acer Predator XB323U GX with 32″ IPS Panel, 1440p Resolution and 270Hz Refresh Rate
In June 2020 Acer announced their new Predator XB273U GX which was a 27″ IPS model with a 2560 x 1440 resolution and a maximum 270Hz overclocked refresh rate. We have some information now about a 32″ sized equivalent via Taobao.com which is the Predator XB323U GX. This IPS-type display carries the same 2560 x 1440 resolution along with a 270Hz maximum overclocked refresh rate (240Hz native) and adaptive-sync support for VRR from both AMD and NVIDIA graphics cards. The screen has also been certified as G-sync Compatible by NVIDIA according to their website.
In other specs the 32″ IPS panel offers a 0.5ms G2G response time (minimum) or 1ms G2G standard response time, 1000:1 contrast ratio, 400 cd/m2 brightness. 178/178 viewing angles, 1.07b colour depth and a wide colour gamut offering 99% Adobe RGB apparently.
The product listing also mentioned NVIDIA ULMB (Ultra Low Motion Blur) for those who like blur reduction backlights although we believe this might be a mistake as that is normally a feature of Native G-sync hardware module screens, and that is not being used here. Perhaps there is a separate added blur reduction backlight though, time will tell.
It has also been certified to the VESA Display HDR 600 standard which means some form of local dimming (edge lit) along with the required 600 cd/m2 peak brightness, wide colour gamut and 10-bit colour depth support.
For connectivity there are DisplayPort 1.4, HDMI 2.0, 4x USB 3.0 and an audio output provided. The stand provides tilt, height, swivel and rotate adjustments. There are also integrated 2x 2W stereo speakers provided.
The screen is expected to be available in January 2021 according to Taobao.com. More information on regional release dates and pricing in the US and UK when we get it along with confirmed specs and features when Acer list the screen on their website.
Update 22/10/20 – from the latest Acer press release, the Predator XB323U GX will apparently be available in North America in January 2021 starting at $899.99 USD; in EMEA in December 2020 starting at EUR 999; and in UK from £799 GBP.
Update 24/2/21 – this has appeared on Amazon.com in the US for sale, although stock is low so it often reverts to unavailable. Keep checking back! (affiliate link)
