At the annual Acer press event in New York this week Acer showcased their new “ConceptD” portfolio; a new brand of desktops, notebooks, monitors and other bits and pieces with premium, any unusual in many cases, high-end design. Of particular interest to us here at TFTCentral are some new monitors. Creators need color accuracy beyond what most mainstream monitors can offer, and thus Acer created ConceptD monitors. The new models feature a remarkable color accuracy of Delta E <1 and a modern slick, black finish with a unique wood-patterned base, these new PANTONE Validated monitors are optimized so creators can do more.

CM7321K

The flagship professional grade model is the ConceptD CM7321K, a 32″ sized monitor aimed at 2D creators. This model offers a 3840 x 2160 UltraHD resolution IPS panel and features a Mini LED backlight for high-end local dimming and HDR support. This Mini LED backlight is a step beyond FALD, and can offer 1152 dimming zones! This display is certified as VESA DisplayHDR 1000, featuring a peak brightness of at least 1000 cd/m2 (TBC exactly what) and a wide gamut colour space covering 99% AdobeRGB and 89.5% of the Rec.2020 space. Oddly in the press release they don’t list the exact DCI-P3 coverage but it should be >90% coverage for that common HDR colour space reference. This is a 60Hz model but could be an excellent option for HDR workflows, designers and some moderate HDR gaming if needed.

Further info and specs are not known at this time, but we will update this news piece when we have more information.

The ConceptD CM7321K 32-inch Monitor will be available in North America in September, starting at USD $2,999; and in EMEA in September, starting at EUR 3,199.00.
