Acer Nitro XV273X with World’s First 240Hz IPS Panel

We’ve been expecting to see 240Hz refresh rate IPS panels emerge for a little while now, since we knew about their development from AU Optronics based on their panel roadmaps. There are expected to be a 24.5″ and 27″ sized panel available for display manufacturers to use, with the former going in to mass production in July and the latter in August/September. We’ve now seen the first display appear on the market using one of these panels, which is Acer’s new Nitro XV273X. This is part of Acer’s Nitro gaming display lineup.

Acer Nitro VG240Y P with 23.8″ IPS Panel and 144Hz Refresh Rate

Acer are soon to release a new model in their Nitro gaming range. The VG240Y P will be 23.8″ in size, and features a 144Hz refresh rate IPS panel. Something unique at this size range at the moment. It has a 1920 x 1080 resolution and support for adaptive sync for variable refresh rates from AMD FreeSync and NVIDIA G-sync systems. A 1ms MPRT response time is also listed as the screen features their ‘Visual Response Boost’ blur reduction backlight option as well.

Acer Nitro XF272 X with 27″ 240Hz Panel and 0.3ms G2G Response Time

We’ve recently reviewed the new Acer Nitro XF252Q display, a 24.5″ sized model with a 240Hz refresh rate TN Film panel and an ultra-low 0.3ms G2G response time specification. It uses the latest generation of AU Optronics panel where the response times have been improved. Acer are also soon to release a 27″ alternative, the Nitro XF272 X with similar specs, but in a larger screen size. This gives you a larger screen to play on for increased immersion, or more flexibility if you want to game from a further viewing distance.

ViewSonic VP3481 for Semi-Professional Users, with Hardware Calibration

ViewSonic are soon releasing a new 34″ model in their VP range. The VP3481 will offer a 21:9 aspect ratio, ultrawide screen with 3440 x 1440 resolution and a curved screen format. It’s aimed at semi-professional users and offers features including support for hardware calibration and a uniformity correction mode.

AOC U2790PQU with 4K Resolution for Professionals and Prosumers

AOC have recently announced the launch of their new U2790PQU display, a 27″ sized model with 4K resolution aimed at professionals and prosumers. A silver/gunmetal colour finish with 3 side borderless design make this model stand out visually, while the panel can offer specs including 10-bit colour depth, along with features like low blue light filters and a fully adjustable stand.
