Asus have recently announced their new 32″ sized PA329C, which will form part of their ProArt lineup for professional uses and colour critical work. The new screen is based on an IPS-type panel and offers a 3840 x 2160 Ultra HD (“4K”) resolution. Colour accuracy is of key focus here and the screen comes factory calibrated with a dE <2, has 10-bit colour depth support and a 14-bit LUT. There is a wide gamut backlight used with 100% sRGB, 100% Adobe RGB and 98% DCI-P3 coverage offered. As with most other professional grade screens the PA329C has support for hardware calibration and also includes a uniformity correction feature.

In other specs the screen has a 1000:1 contrast ratio, 400 cd/m2 typical brightness, 5ms G2G response time, 60Hz refresh rate and 178/178 viewing angles.

The screen carries VESA’s DisplayHDR 600 certification and so offers some kind of meaningul HDR experience, including the required local dimming (edge lit). There is a peak brightness of 600 cd/m2 offered for HDR content, and there are the required colour depth and colour gamut support we’ve already talked about above.

The screen also includes a 4-way (4 separate sources) Picture by Picture capability along with PiP. The stand offers a full range of tilt, height, swivel and rotate adjustments. For connectivity there are DisplayPort 1.2, 3x HDMI 2.0, USB type-C and 5x USB 3.0 downstream ports. A 3.5mm headphone jack, 2x 3W stereo speakers and even an integrated card reader are included.
